Markdown table to PDF
Sometimes the document is the table. Pricing sheets, score cards, comparison matrices - they live or die on whether the columns line up.
Single-table documents
If the table is the whole document, turn off the cover page and the ToC. Set the design to 'ledger' for a hairline-grid feel that suits dense numeric content. Pick the Bordered table style. You'll end up with a clean one-pager that looks built for the data.
Why columns don't line up sometimes
- Inconsistent number formatting (1,000 vs 1000) makes the auto-alignment misclassify columns. Pick one format.
- Mixed text + numeric in one column → it'll left-align by default. Move the text to its own column.
- Columns with very long cell text wrap; that's not misalignment, that's correct behaviour. Make the cell text shorter or split the table.
Totals rows
Toggle 'Bold last row' for the table in the sidebar. The last row gets a rule above and bold cells - the standard pricing-sheet treatment.
FAQ
Can I export just the table without other content?
Yes. Paste only the table into the editor; turn off the cover and ToC; the PDF is a single page with just the table.
How wide can the table be?
It fills the body column width on A4 portrait. For wider tables, switch to landscape orientation (set a wider page size) or split into two narrower tables.
Can I have a table on a coloured background?
Pick the 'Striped' preset for alternating row tints, or 'Corporate' for a tinted header row. The body cells are always on the page surface colour.
